Mike Goldberg, the UFC’s leading “play-by-play” announcer, is returning to action starting in Chicago at UFC on FOX 6 on January 26th. This was confirmed today at the UFC on FOX 6 conference call and then tweeted on the official account.
Goldberg missed UFC 155 as he battled an upper respiratory infection. This interview came after days of speculative talk and rumors that he was in drug rehab for an addiction to Adderall. Dana White himself never outright addressed what Goldberg had in the first place.
With Goldberg out, Jon Anik, who does the smaller FX and FUEL shows, commentated on UFC 155 alongside Rogan. After the event, Dana White said he was not sure when Goldberg would return, and it turns out he only missed one assigned event.
So if you’ve been waiting for over a month to be told when a fight is indeed all over, Goldberg will be back soon.
