Michael Kuiper can’t seem to keep an opponent on the line for very long, but let’s hope this one actually makes it to the octagon. After three other bouts on two different cards fell through, Kuiper will (hopefully) meet newcomer Josh Janousek at UFC on Fox 6. MMA Fighting has the news:
The fight card for the UFC’s second FOX show in Chicago, Ill. continues to fill out. NCAA Diviion II All-American Josh Janousek will make his Octagon debut against Michael Kuiper at the network television event. MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani has confirmed that news with sources close to the signing.
Janousek (8-1), a former JUCO wrestling champ, is on a six-fight winning streak but hasn’t competed in MMA since April 2011. The 23-year old Kuiper (12-1) is 1-1 in the UFC this far, dropping a decision to Rafael Natal in his debut and most recently stopping Jared Hamman via TKO after Hamman suffered a leg injury.
The bout will take place on the preliminary card. UFC on Fox 6 will be headlined by a flyweight title fight between champion Demetrious Johnson and challenger John Dodson.
