Strikeforce light-heavyweight Mike Kyle lost to Gegard Mousasi earlier tonight by first-round rear-naked choke. It’s the promotion’s final event, and for Kyle it’s apparently his final fight. He told Ariel Helwani post-fight that this fight is his last one.
Mike Kyle just walked by me seconds after losing to Gegard Mousasi and said, “It’s not in me anymore. That was my last one.”

Kyle went 2-4-1 (1 NC) in Strikeforce, and his career highlight with the promotion was a KO win over Rafael Cavalcante in 2009. He also went 2-1 in the UFC, including a KO win over James Irvin. The 32-year-old Kyle finishes with an overall MMA record of 19-9-1 and 2 NCs.
