A potentially exciting taekwondo battle has been added to the already-stacked UFC 158 card in Montreal. John Makdessi will meet fellow striker Daron Cruickshank. The UFC’s Canadian arm tweeted about the fight last night:
Makdessi (12-2) erased a two-fight losing streak with a solid unanimous decision win over Sam Stout at UFC 154 in November. The win improved his UFC record to 3-2 overall. Cruickshank (12-2) was a contestant on TUF 15, and has picked up two straight wins in the UFC thus far. The last one came via exciting knockout over Henry Martinez at UFC on Fox 5 last month.
The bout is expected to take place on the preliminary card. The main event of the card sees UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre defending his title against nemesis Nick Diaz.
