2012 was not the year for former Lightweight champion Frankie Edgar. After holding the belt for over two years, Edgar lost back to back title fights to current champ Ben Henderson. In the wake of giving up the controversial decision at UFC 150, Edgar decided to move down to Featherweight.
For his first fight in the new division, Edgar drew none other than dominant champion Jose Aldo. And Edgar had a few words for the champ in his latest video blog:
[I’m] getting ready for this fight, February 2. Make sure you guys check that out. UFC 156 – superfight with Jose Aldo. You know, I’m hearing he’s doing some video blogs in Portuguese saying I’m not gonna make it outta the first or second, third round whatever the case may be. Homeboy’s got something coming though.
Coming up in less than a month during Super Bowl weekend, Edgar and Aldo will meet at UFC 156. There’s a ton of exciting fights on the card including Alistair Overeem’s return to action against Bigfoot Silva. The fights will go down at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, NV.
