Result: Melvin Manhoef def. Denis Kang by KO (Knee to the body), R1
Melvin Manhoef is known for his brutal KO power, and he displayed that once again tonight. On the merged DREAM 18 – GLORY 4 card, Manhoef took on PRIDE and UFC veteran Denis Kang, and the fight didn’t even last long.
Kang engaged early, and Manhoef made him pay. After a brief firefight, Manhoef got the Muay Thai plum, and landed one of the most brutal knees I’ve ever seen. One big knee, and Kang collapsed to the mat instantly, prompting the ref to stop the fight.
It was a quick night in the office for Manhoef, and he displayed the brutal power that made him a cult favorite among hardcore fans. Manhoef is now enjoying a ressurgence in his MMA career at middleweight. He has had a great 2012, and the win makes him unbeaten for the year in 4 bouts.
Following the fight, he took the mic and addressed the crowd. “You know, I am very glad be be back in Japan. This is my hometown!”
