Lightweights Michael Johnson and Myles Jury opened up the FX prelims for UFC 155. Both men worked to find their range and timing from the outside for the first couple minutes. Jury got a takedown right into half guard. Johnson gave up his back trying to get up. Jury landing great ground and pound from the top, while Johnson struggled to get back to half guard. Johnson completely defense and Jury went from side control to full mount. 10 second warning and Jury grabbed for the rear naked choke but couldn’t finish. Fantastic performance from Jury.
Johnson kept distance starting out the second. Definitely didn’t want to end up on his back again. 3 minutes in, Jury got the takedown and started working from Johnson’s guard. Jury landed some solid shots from the top, but nothing like he did in the first round.
Johnson came out trying to make something happen, but Jury clinched up and tripped him in half-guard. Jury immediately started looking to pass. Jury completely dominant again. Jury punished with ground and pound through the entire round and Johnson could find no way to stop him. Johnson finally got to his feet with less than a minute left, but the fight was already over by that point.
