UFC Lightweight contender Jim Miller is looking to get back on the winning trail against Joe Lauzon at UFC 155. Miller had a 7 fight UFC win streak going until he ran into future champ Ben Henderson in August 2011 and dropped a unanimous decision. He rebounded by submitting Melvin Guillard in January but then he got submitted by Nate Diaz in May.
Miller is looking to re-establish himself at the top of the division’s food chain by beating the tough Lauzon. He spoke to MMA Junkie and shared his lofty goals for the fight:
“I’m a fan of his, and I think it’s an exciting fight and I match up well with (Lauzon). I’m excited to get back in the swing of things because even after I came back from the injury, I was having a tough time just getting back in consistently with everything going on. It’s good to be back and going full-bore.
“I haven’t been satisfied with a fight for coming up on two years now and it’s really been eating at me. I want to get in there and do everything I’m capable of.The Guillard fight, I was happy I won and happy I finished him. But it wasn’t a dominant two-minute fight. He landed a shot, and that’s not what I want. I want to go in and make somebody look bad. I want to beat him up and be dominant from bell to bell. I try to be my own biggest critic and really push myself.”
Miller vs. Lauzon will be the co-main event at UFC 155 on Saturday, December 29 live on pay-per-view.
