
TUF: Smashes Welterweight finalists Bradley Scott and Robert Whittaker stepped into the octagon for the third fight of UFC On FX 6 main card. Scott made the final fight with a split decision victory over Ben Alloway. Whittaker made it there with a tko over Xavier Lucas.
First round started out slow. Both fighters struggling to find range on the outside. Scott had some success putting Whittaker against the cage. Then Whittaker charged forward and landed some big shots on Scott in a flurry. He went for the finish but, Scott recovered. Another flurry from Whittaker at the end of the round. Scott showed a good sense of urgency in the second and tried to pressure Whittaker. Whittaker responded well and landed solid counters before being taken down halfway through the round. Scott tried to punish with back control before Whittaker got up with a minute left.
Third round was all “Let Me Bang, Bro” with both fighters landing solid, but Scott getting the edge. Whittaker favored his right foot. Both fighters go all out in the final minute hoping for a finish. Robert Whittaker gets the judges nod for a unanimous decision (29-28 x 3) over Bradley Scott.
