Brad Scott vs. Robert Whittaker set as ‘TUF: The Smashes’ welterweight final

The final for The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes (Australia vs. UK) welterweight tournament is set for the main card. Representing the UK is Brad Scott (8-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC), as he faces Australia’s Robert Whittaker (9-2, 0-0 UFC) in a fight that is consistent with the show’s theme.

Scott advanced to the final following decision wins over Benny Alloway and Xavier Lucas. Professionally he’s never gone the distance, with 5 knockouts and 3 submissions, and a tapout to strikes standing as his only loss.

Whittaker meanwhile knocked out the UK’s Luke Newman and then Xavier Lucas — who automatically advanced to the semis when his fight with James Vainikolo fell through after Vainikolo missed weight — in the semifinals. In pro bouts he’s finished all 9 of his victories, but he did lose his most recent fight against Jesse Juarez in Sydney.

Scott vs. Whittaker will air on the FX main card along with the lightweight final, which has already seen the UK’s Norman Parke advance to the final. He awaits the winner of Colin Fletcher (UK) vs. Richie Vaculik (AUS) and presumably the rest of the card will be completed by this time next week.
