The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale fight card

Hardly anyone is watching The Ultimate Fighter this season and judging by the quality of the fights, it’s more than justified. That said, you absolutely should watch the season finale. Dana White has voiced his displeasure enough times during the show about the substandard quality of fights, so this finale card is filled with established UFC fighters, some guys from TUF 15, and the TUF 16 finalists themselves.

Once again a coaches fight has been scrapped, as Shane Carwin’s knee injury forced him out of the main event against Roy Nelson. TUF 10 semifinalist Matt Mitrione steps in to face Big Country in a five-round fight.

This is a damn good card from top-to-bottom, including fights like Pat Barry against Shane Del Rosario, Mike Pyle against James Head, and a surefire FOTN contender Melvin Guillard against Jamie Varner. Maybe TUF should be uninspiring more often for us to get free shows like this but still provide drunken gems like “Just let me bang, bro”.

NOTE: The TUF 16 finale will be tape-delayed to the West Coast, so it will air on FX December 15th at 9 PM ET and 9 PM PT.
