The ratings for the 9th episode of The Ultimate Fighter season 16 featuring coaches Roy Nelson and Shane Carwin came in slightly down from last week but were still strong. MMA Junkie reported the showing drew 921,000 viewers and according to Television By Numbers, the ninth episode received a 0.6 rating in the 18-49 adult demographic.
Here are the ratings for each episode this season via MMA Payout:
TUF 16 Episode 1: 947,000
TUF 16 Episode 2: 872,000
TUF 16 Episode 3: 775,000
TUF 16 Episode 4: 1.1 million
TUF 16 Episode 5: 624,000
TUF 16 Episode 6: 811,000
TUF 16 Episode 7: 676,000
TUF 16 Episode 8: 1.1 million
TUF 16 Episode 9: 921,000 viewers
It’s unclear what’s driving the improved ratings but it’s a timely coincidence that the first two episodes of UFC 154 Primetime to promote Georges St. Pierre vs. Carlos Condit have been airing following the show. That’s what TUF is supposed to do: promote UFC pay-per-views.
