Korean fighter Hyun Gyu Lim was expected to make his UFC debut against David Mitchell at Saturday’s UFC on Fuel 6 card, but he has been pulled from the card. The promotion issued a statement in regards to the situation via their website just minutes ago:
After being examined by doctors it was determined that Hyun Gyu Lim was medically unfit to participate in tomorrow’s event and as a precaution, his UFC Macao bout has been canceled. His opponent, David Mitchell, will be paid his show money.
The 26-year-old Lim (10-3-1), a teammate of fellow UFC on Fuel 6 fighter Dong Hyun Kim, was originally scheduled to face Marcelo Guimaraes on the first UFC card in China. Guimaraes was forced out with an injury and replaced by Mitchell about a month ago, but it appears that it didn’t matter who the opponent was. Lim’s medical issue is unknown at this time, but hopefully he’s fine and will get the chance to compete on a card in the near future.
