London based promotion Cage Warriors is bringing the UK MMA action this afternoon with CWFC 49.They’ll be making their first ever appearance in Wales at St. Davids Hall in Cardiff.
The headlining bout features a battle between Welterweights Bruno Carvalho and Cathal Pendred. Carvalho is coming off a win over Ramazan Esenbaev at a May M-1 Challenge event. However, he’s probably most recognizable for being the victim of Marius Zaromskis somersault kick last November. Pendred is bring in a 5-fight unbeaten streak into this bout with a career record of 10-2-1.
WMMA’s Rosi Sexton was supposed to face off against Sheila Gaff as the co-main event. Unfortunately, Gaff was forced to withdrawal due to illness. Sexton suspected it had more to do with their agreement to participate in VADA sponsored drug testing.
