UFC middleweight Michael Bisping is known as one of the more talkative fighters in the organization, and rarely passes up the chance to comment on anything. He is in line for a possible title shot against UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, but it seems like Silva is more interested in a bout with welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre. Bisping told MMA Junkie that he doesn’t think GSP is really interested in the bout though:

“It sounds to me, reading between the lines, I don’t think ‘GSP’ is really keen on it. I think he realizes that it’s not a good fight for him, to be honest. He’s said it’s a giant pain in the ass to always talk about Anderson Silva, and I’m sure it would be a giant pain in the jaw, as well.”

It makes sense for Bisping to try and downplay the bout – after all, he could get the bout with Silva if GSP passes on it. To that end though, Bisping at least understands where Anderson is coming from in terms of wanting the most lucrative fight:

“It is frustrating, but I also understand it,” Bisping admitted. “I understand it from Silva’s perspective. I understand it from the UFC’s perspective.

“Who knows if they’ll step up and try and fight each other? I’ll just be waiting for my shot.”

Bisping is someone that Anderson would be interested in facing, because he’s popular and it would make him money. And let’s face it, Bisping is probably less of a threat to Silva than someone like Chris Weidman will be. But for now, the middleweight title is on the shelf and Bisping is probably going to be waiting for a while.
