Antonio Rogerio Nogueira says he’s ‘training again’, wants Forrest Griffin at UFC 155

The last time we saw Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, he soundly defeated Tito Ortiz at UFC 140, but he has yet to fight this year. He was Alexander Gustafsson’s original opponent for the Sweden card in April, but an injury forced him out and there have been no murmurs about his future since. Well that’s changed after Forrest Griffin was left without an opponent following the UFC’s decision to send the undefeated, undisputed Chael Sonnen against Jon Jones for the light-heavyweight title. Lil’ Nog took to Twitter to announce he’s healthy, training, and wants Forrest Griffin at UFC 155.

As Lil’ Nog mentioned, this fight was scheduled once back at UFC 114, but a shoulder injury put Griffin out, and in stepped Jason Brilz. Lil’ Nog won that fight in an entertaining and close split decision, vaulting Brilz into respectability before Vladimir Matyushenko and Ryan Bader knocked him out of the UFC.

Lil’ Nog’s UFC record currently stands at 3-2 while Griffin is also 3-2 in his last 5 and 10-5 overall. I liked this fight when it was originally made and they might as well make it now.
