UFC 153: Silva vs. Bonnar – Live results and play-by-play for undercard bouts

As with every major show, Bloody Elbow will be here to bring you live results, play by play and commentary for UFC 153: Silva vs. Bonnar. Our live coverage will start with the prelim fights on Facebook (currently scheduled for 6:45 p.m. ET) and continuing through the FX undercard broadcast (8 p.m. ET) through the main card on pay-per-view (10:00 p.m. ET) so make sure to make Bloody Elbow your home for this event.

This post will cover live results and thoughts for the undercard on Facebook and FX.

The undercard headliner sees Ultimate Fighter: Brazil winner Rony Jason take on Sam Sicillia. Gleison Tibau will face Francisco Trinaldo, Diego Brandao squares off with Joey Gambino and Sergio Moraes battles Renee Forte all on FX.

The two prelim fights on Facebook see Luiz Cane against Chris Camozzi and Cristiano Marcello against Reza Madadi.

Cristiano Marcello vs. Reza Madadi – Round 1 – Madadi comes forward, Marcello throws a right that misses and a few leg kicks. Knee to the body by Marcello now. Madadi lands a stiff jab. Madadi with another jab, Marcello with a cuffing right hand. Head kick by Marcello is mostly blocked. Madadi lands a big left hook. Now he lands again. Marcello is pulling straight back with his chin up, as noted by Joe Rogan and that’s when he’s getting hit. Marcello throws a headkick at the end of the round that is blocked. 10-9 Madadi.

Round 2 – Marcello lands a left hand and then Madadi tags him with a jab. Marcello having a better round. Marcello with a good body shot and he has the jab working now and a good right. Marcello finding his rhythm now. Madadi with a jab. Both men bleeding now. Marcello with another good jab. Good right by Madadi and Marcello is hurt. Now Madadi really tagging him. Marcello with a right hand. This is good. Uppercut by Madadi. Marcello with an uppercut now. Marcello was winning the round until he got hurt by Madadi. 10-9 Madadi.

Round 3 – Marcello whipping right hands but not landing. Madadi with the takedown. Madadi stands back up and pops him with a jab, and again. Madadi is popping Marcello enough to have his face swollen up badly. Marcello lands a few shots now. Spinning back kick from Marcello. Madadi throwing big shots, tries for a takedown, can’t get it and eats a knee rom Marcello. Marcello digs to the body. Madadi still popping him. Madadi really hesitating to engage now. 10-9 Marcello makes it 29-28 Madadi in my card.

Official scorecards: 29-28 Madadi, 29-28 Marcello, 30-27 Marcello. Christiano Marcello wins by split decision.

Luiz Cane vs. Chris Camozzi – Round 1 -Camozzi coming out hard and Cane is trying to throw back but he’s getting countered. Camozzi witha nice left hand. Cane takes the back standing and gets a takedown and gets both hooks in. Cane throwing punches but Camozzi manages to get out and to his feet. Cane with a good knee. Camozzi with a nice combination. Good left by Camozzi and a knee to the body. Good elbow by Camozzi. Camozzi with a good jab now. Takedown or not, Camozzi won that in my eyes. 10-9 Camozzi.

Round 2 – Cane just can’t really get anything going on the eet. Camozzi with a good leg kick and a good right hand. Camozzi is pushing him around the cage and all Cane is really doing is defending. Camozzi with a good left and Cane actually lands something in return. Knee lands for Camozzi in the clinch now. Cane lands a let, Camozzi lands in return. Uppercut by Camozzi and Cane is forced to circle away again. Big left by Camozzi lands well. 10-9 Camozzi.

Round 3 – Camozzi still dictating pace here but Cane does land a counter left and then a leg kick and left hand. Cane just looks stiff and kind of “out of it” in there so he only has moments and then falls back to not doing much. Cane finally comes forward and has a little bit of success before Camozzi lands a left hand. Leg kick by Camozzi. Cane with a good body shot. They trade power punches and now Cane with a hard straight left hand. Cane tries for a takedown, can’t get it and lands a few punches. Camozzi with a hard left hand. Hard shots by Cane at the end of the fight. 10-9 Cane makes it 29-28 Camozzi on my card. But pretty sure the judges will have it for Cane.

Official Scorecards: 29-28 across the board. Chris Camozzi wins by unanimous decision.

Sergio Moraes vs. Renee Forte – Round 1 – Moraes trying for the takedown against the cage and Forte manages to keep upright and get the fight back to the center of the cage. Moraes with a brief takedown but Forte bounced back up before Moraes had position. Now Moraes with the takedown and he’s on top. Moraes works around to the back but Forte is able to survive and does get back to his feet. Not much happens and Moraes won that round 10-9.

Round 2 – Moraes can’t get the takedown here. Now he pushes in again, and he gets the double leg takedown. Forte sliding to the cage and he can’t quite get up. Now he does, Moraes misses on the takedown attempt. Moraes fails on another takedown attempt. Forte might be able to get something done if he….you know…tries to do something. Moraes pushing him into the cage again. Forte with a good uppercut and hook and Moraes was hurt but he went to his back and FOrte let him stay there until the end of the round. 10-9 Forte for being the guy that actually did something.

Round 3 – Forte with some good punches and now Moraes responds with a takedown and quickly has the back. Forte standing up with Moraes on his back, with the body triangle. Moraes landing some punches and now he tries for a facelock. Forte can’t seem to sheke him. Forte can’t get rid of him and Moraes tightens the choke and it’s over. Sergio Moraes wins by submission (rear naked choke/facelock), round 3.

Diego Brandao vs. Joey Gambino – Round 1 – Brandao with a head kick and he follows up with some big punches but Gambino survives. Gambino now working in a ew good straight rights that are landing a bit. Hard leg kick by Gambino and another right hand. Gambino pushing him into the cage. Brandao manages to be the one who gets the takedown into side control. Gambino manages to get half guard. They’re back to standing and Gambino lans a left that cuts Diego. Diego counters a kick with a hard punch. Close round but I’ll give a slight edge to Brandao.

Round 2 – Huge right by Brandao and Gambino goes down but now he’s recovering but Brandao is on top now, working to side control and now mount. Gambino now manages to get half guard back, and now full guard. Gambino almost manages to get an armbar but can’t finish it. They’re back to standing now and Brandao lands a hard leg kick. Takedown by Brandao again. Gambino back to his feet via ref restart.. 10-9 Brandao.

Round 3 – Again it’s Brandao with a big right and he makes Gambino stand back up after he is dropped. Now they’re back to the ground with Brandao on top and Gambino tries for a triangle that only gets his guard passed. Again, they’re stood up and these stand-ups are happening way too quickly. Gambino with a left hand. Big right by Diego lands hard. 10-9 Brandao.

Official scorecards: 30-27 across the board for Diego Brandao.

Gleison Tibau vs Francisco Trinaldo – Round 1 – Trinaldo circling on the outside, and they exchange punches. Tibau with a takedown and Trinaldo stands and Tibau had a guillotine and pulls guard with it. Trinaldo survives the bad position. Tibau with a nice sharp combination back on the feet. Tibau with another takedown and he lands some sharp punches. Trinaldo turns Tibau and pushes him into the cage. Good knee to the body by Trinaldo and a big knee to the face and some hard punches. Tibau comes back with a nice takedown though and he’s back on top in guard. 10-9 Tibau.

Round 2 – Trinaldo firing big shots now but Tibau pushes him into the cage. Big Trinaldo punch and Tibau is hurt. Trinaldo takes his back as they go to the ground. Trinaldo turns looking for an arm triangle but Tibau gets out. Trinaldo with a bit elbow. Trinaldo with big ground and pound now. Trinaldo with very nice elbows from the top. Round ends and it was 10-9 Trinaldo.

Round 3 – Both men come out swinging hard and Tibau is landing hard. Trinaldo firing back and this is getting really good. Tibau with the takedown and he’s on top now in Trinaldo’s guard. Tibau moves to half guard and as he’s trying to improve more the ref stands them up. Horrible stand-up but Tibau takes him right back down. Now Tibau moves to mount. Tibau now looking tor an arm triangle and Trinaldo survives it. TIbau back to mount now. The round ends and Tibau should be safe to take a 29-28 decision unless people gave round 2 to Trinaldo 10-8 in which case it’d be a draw.

Official scorecards: 29-28 across the board. Glieson Tibau wins by unanimous decision.

Rony Jason vs. Sam Sicilia – Round 1 – Rony misses a head kick, counter right by Sicilia just goes over Rony’s head. Big punch by Rony and Sicilia’s legs go rubber. Jason with another good shot and Sicilia with a takedown. Sicilia with a few punches, Jason is looking to control an arm. Big right by Sicilia. Another big right lands. Horrible stand up AGAIN by the referee (Fernando Yamasaki in at least his third awful performance tonight). Jason lands some shots and Sicilia answers well. 10-9 for Rony Jason, but close.

Round 2 – Sicilia coming forward early and Rony is trying to find an opening. Not much landing or either guy here. Finally Rony lands a knee and Sam with a big left and now a bigger right in the flurry. Another right by Sicilia. Big left by Sicilia. Now Rony with a good left hand and digs to the body. Sicilia with a big right, Rony catches a kick, lands a right and then follows him to the ground, finishing him off with a flurry of hammerfists. Rony Jason wins by TKO (punches), round 2.
