Welterweight Charlie Brenneman (15-5, 4-4 UFC) has been released from the organization following a quick knockout loss to Kyle Noke at UFC 152 last month. It was Brenneman’s third loss in four fights. He tweeted about the situation earlier today, and left little doubt about his status:
Im gone but not forgotten. Ill be bak soon! Thx @ufc @danawhite for the opportunities, and especially to all my loyal fans!!! C u all soon!

Brenneman debuted back at UFC Fight Night 21in March of 2010, where he defeated Jason High. After being stopped by Johny Hendricks in his next bout he picked up two straight wins, including a huge victory over Rick Story in the main event of UFC on Versus 4. He came in as a very late replacement for Nate Marquardt and got the job done. Unfortunately though, losing three out of his next four sealed his fate. The wrestling specialist picked up all four of his wins by decision, while he was finished in all four of his losses.
