UFC president Dana White hasn’t been on twitter much lately, but he popped back up with a doozy of a tweet today. It had been rumored for a little while now that UFC on FX 6 was going to take place outside of North America. That has turned out to be true – the show will go down in Australia on December 14th. And the first fight announced for the card is pretty good. Take it away Dana:
Palhares (14-4) is coming off a loss to Alan Belcher at UFC on Fox 3 in May. He was on a three-fight winning streak before that. Lombard (31-3-1, 1 NC), a former Bellator middleweight champion, made his UFC debut against Tim Boetsch at UFC 149. The bout was not pretty to say the least, and Lombard dropped a split decision.
The fight makes a ton of sense considering that Lombard has fought in Australia many times and is still the CFC and AFC middleweight champion. It’s unknown if this is the main event or not but if Dana’s the one tweeting it, I’d guess it is. Toquinho vs. Shango. Get ready Australia.
