The final fight from the canceled UFC 151, which would’ve been two days away, now has a new home. A featherweight fight between Dennis Siver and Eddie Yagin, originally scheduled for the PPV main card, moves to UFC on FOX 5 in Seattle this December, becoming the 3rd fight to move from 151 to FOX 5. MMA Interviews confirmed the news through Yagin’s manager (and Yagin confirmed it on Twitter):
MMAinterviews just found out that Eddie Yagin and Dennis Siver will join the stacked card at UFC on FOX 5 going down in Seattle on Dec. 8. The news was confirmed by Yagin’s manager.
Yagin had a rather mediocre showing in his debut against Junior Assuncao (a decision loss), and was widely seen as a “bounce-back” win for Mark Hominick at UFC 145 as a result. Instead, Yagin repeatedly hurt Hominick, dropped him twice, and held on for a split decision win in a very entertaining fight.
Siver, known for his spinning back kick and gigantic upper body, dropped to 145 for the first time in his career, and beat Diego Nunes by decision in Sweden back in April. He had rattled off 4 wins in a row at LW, but Donald Cerrone put an end to that streak by dominating him at UFC 137.
This fight is scheduled for the preliminary card with Mike Swick vs. Matt Brown booked as the 4th main card bout, which means that none of the PPV main card fights (except Jon Jones obviously) went to another PPV main card.
