Strikeforce 135lb women’s champ Ronda Rousey spoke to Karyn Bryant of MMA Heat after beating Sarah Kaufman in the first round last night and called out former 145lb women’s champ Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos.
Bryant: So listen you called out Cyborg after, you called her Cyroid, yes?
Rousey: I could call her Guyborg. I thought Cyroid was accurate cause that actually has some basis in truth. I don’t know that she’s actually a dude.
The interview also covers Rousey’s relationships with her coaches and training partners including UFC Featherweight Manny Gamburyan.
Then they turn to the matter of a potential movie career for Rousey.
We’ll transcribe that after the jump…
SBN coverage of Strikeforce: Rousey vs. Kaufman
Bryant: Has Hollywood come calling?
Rousey: I’m kind of concerned that doing movies is kind of a death sentence for fighting. You have to do six months of shooting and six months of promotion and that’s a whole year you’re not a 100% committed to fighting and if someone’s trying to kill you every couple of months you have to be 100% committed to that.
I think I want this fight with Cyborg in January and after that fight I’ll probably entertain the idea of doing some other things and possibly not fighting as often and being able to devote myself to one or the other. I’ll let everything develop organically, who knows.
