There’s a bunch of news coming out of the Asian MMA scene, so here’s a quick round up to get you up to date:
- Big news from the Asian circuit comes from Pacific X-treme Combat (PXC). They’ll be hosting an event this weekend headlined by a title bout between former URCC champion, and current PXC Bantamweight king, Justin Cruz (18-4), and the Wushu-based fighter from Team Lakay, in Crisanto Pitpitunge (3-1).
- That event seems promising, but there is already bigger news that Asian MMA fans can look forward to from the promotion. On September, PXC will have yet another event in the Philippines which will be headlined by two top notch title fights.
- TUF Veteran, Jon Tuck (6-0), who you may remember from that freak toe injury he suffered against eventual finalist, Al Iaquinta, will be returning to Asia. PXC officials have informed us that on September, he will be trying to take that PXC lightweight crown from Strikeforce and WEC veteran, Harris Sarmiento (34-23).
- The other title fight on this double-header will be flyweight champion, Ale Cali taking on a returning Filipino MMA icon in Erwin Tagle, who is known for his classic wars against former URCC champ, Richard Lasprilla.
