Even on an incredible night with a record Nevada gate, UFC president Dana White still was fuming after UFC 148 and at a target that many wouldn’t expect.
White talked for four minutes with MMA Fighting/Fuel TV’s Ariel Helwani about the event’s big two fights:
– White was asked about whether he felt Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen was stopped too soon and gave his thoughts on the knee that began the end of the fight.
– White said this fight reminded him of the Silva vs. Dan Henderson bout from March 2008 with Sonnen dominating early but Silva crushing him later. He praised Sonnen for giving it his all.
– White thought both Tito Ortiz and Forrest Griffin “looked old” and explained what he told Griffin when he left the cage early. “I’m not doing talking to Forrest yet,” White said. He was extremely upset with Griffin’s actions post-fight including the “interview” of Ortiz.
