Indiana native Bart Palaszewski has been campaigning on twitter to get a fight on the Indianapolis card on September 7th, and it appears that he got what he asked for. He’ll be facing a tough Brazilian at the event. MMA Weekly has it:
Bart Palaszewski will get his wish to fight in Indianapolis at the UFC on FX 5 card headed there in September.
Palaszewski will face off with former top featherweight contender Diego Nunes in a bout on the UFC on FX 5 card.
Palaszewski (36-15) dropped down to featherweight last year and picked up a big win in his debut against Tyson Griffin (the bout was actually at 148 pounds since Griffin missed weight). That earned him a bout with Hatsu Hioki at UFC 144, but he was completely dominated and dropped a decision.
Nunes (17-3) was once a top contender at featherweight, but losses in two out of his three fights have set him back into the middle of the pack. He most recently dropped a decision to Dennis Siver at UFC on Fuel 2 in April.
The bout is likely to take place on the preliminary card.
