Tweet Of The Day: Korean Zombie Wants Jose Aldo

Chan Sung Jung’s popularity is still surprising when you really think about it. His WEC debut in a losing effort (which he should have won) against Leonard Garcia was a fantastic fight, but following that up with a huge head kick KO loss to George Roop seemed like the end of any chance of Jung being a true “force” in the featherweight division.

Instead, “The Korean Zombie” made his way to the UFC and beat Leonard Garcia in their rematch with a beautiful twister submission and knocked out former title contender Mark Hominick in seven seconds. Now Jung had the right combination of cool nickname, fan-friendly fighting style and success to really do something big in the game.

Jung wouldn’t squander the opportunity he was presented with when he faced Dustin Poirier in May. After an incredible fight, Jung locked in a d’arce choke to get the submission win and secure a shot at featherweight champion Jose Aldo.

Aldo vs. Jung has a chance to be the biggest featherweight bout in the sport’s history and KZ isn’t going to be quiet while he waits for Aldo to heal up and deal with Erik Koch:
