Wanderlei Silva and Rich Franklin will hook it up in a rematch in the main event of the show. In the middleweight finals of The Ultimate Fighter Brazil, Cezar Ferreira takes on Sergio Moraes while the featherweight finals see Goofredo Pepey against Rony Mariano Bezerra. Heavyweight contenders Fabricio Werdum and Mike Russow meet on the PPV and featherweights Yuri Alcantara and Hacran Dias will fight in the opening bout.

Yuri Alcantara vs. Hacran Dias – Round 1 – Alcantara takes the center of the cage and lands a knee and then tries to throw some punches before Dias grabs on to his legs, looking for the takedown. Dias manages to get the takedown now and Alcantara is sitting up against the cage. Dias looking to grab a head and arm choke now. Alcantara gets his arm loose so no-go on the choke. Dias in Alcantara’s guard now. Very big elbow by Dias. Dias just grinding away now. Dias with some nice punches now as well and Alcantara tries to turn and stand up. Knees to the thigh by Dias and now Alcantara spins and takes the back as they stand up. 10-9 Dias.
Round 2 – Dias quickly on top this round again and he’s working elbows and punches similar to last round. Alcantara with a sudden armbar attempt and it was close, but Dias pulled his arm out. Alcantara manages to get to his feet but Dias takes him right back down with a body lock. Dias with a flurry of elbows that were mostly blocked, but he’s very aggressive. Alcantara does get to his feet and land a bit but he lost that round too.
Round 3 – Crowd has turned on the fight a bit as they boo. Good body kick by Alcantara but Dias rips a better one right back. Not a whole lot happening through the first two minutes. Another body kick by Dias. Alcantara gets a late takedown and now he lands a few punches. 10-9 Alcantara for a 29-28 Dias card in my eyes.

Fabricio Werdum and Mike Russow – Round 1 – Werdum stalking and he almost lands a knee in the clinch and then misses an uppercut. Now a few hard shots by Werdum and Russow is trying to get away. Body shot by Werdum. Werdum just kind of taking his time and picking him apart. Werdum getting the better of the exchanges but Russow is landing an occasional punch. Uppercut by Werdum and Russow drops. Werdum piles on now with all kinds of shots and it’s over. That was…one sided. Fabricio Werdum wins by TKO (punches), round 1.
Godofredo Pepey vs. Rony “Jason” Mariano Bezerra – Round 1 – Right hand by Jason and now Pepey pushes in looking for a takedown. They’re trading wild punches and Jason lands a knee. Pepey pulls guard near the cage. Pepey looking to lock up a kimura now but nothing doing and he lets it go. Oddly timed stand-up by the ref now. Pepey ends up jumping into guard again and Jason slams him to the mat. Pepey tries to adjust for an armbar but Jason avoids. A few elbows by Pepey. Close round but I think Jason gets the slight edge due to some striking.\
Round 2 – Pepey ends up pulling guard again. He gets a “final warning” for shots to the back of the head. Pulling guard in MMA is a really dumb idea. Jason with a few kicks in the stand-up. Left hook lands for Jason, then he misses a spinning kick. I guess 10-9 Jason. This fight is bad.
Round 3 – Jason with some nice shots early in this round and Pepey is trying to make things happen but he’s missing most of his strikes by quite a bit. Pepey with a few wide punches and Jason with a counter on the inside. Pepey tries to pull guard again, and he doesn’t succeed. Jason with a hook and he gets hit with yet another low blow. Somehow Pepey doesn’t lose a point despite that being his third low blow and having been warned multiple times for shots to the back of the head. Bad reffing right there. They resume, not really enough time to do anything else and Pepey acts like a chump after the fight. 10-9 Jason again.
Official Scorecards: 29-28 across the board. Rony “Jason” Mariano Bezerra wins by unanimous decision.
Cezar Ferreira vs. Sergio Moraes – Round 1 – Ferreira was looking for some sort of flashy kick but as he moved his body, Moraes moved away. Accidental eye poke and Moraes needs a second to recover. Wild kick by Ferreira lands a bit and he follows up but Moraes throws a couple back his way. Left hand by Ferreira. Knee to chest. Moraes appears to have the defensive strategy of “throw many punches wildly so that he can’t get close to me.” Good body kick by Moraes. Moraes does land one of his wild punches and a body kick. Accidental low blow by Ferreira and they break for a second. 10-9 Ferreira.
Round 2 – Moraes tries to pull guard, it doesn’t work and Ferreira makes him stand. Ferreira with a big punch an Moraes twists to the ground but may have slipped. Spinning wheel kick and Moraes is hurt badly. Ferreira with more shots and Moraes is in deep trouble. Ferreira makes him stand back up. Moraes trying to make SOMETHING happen but he gets popped a few times. Moraes with some big shots and Ferreira is badly hurt. Moraes is trying to catch him with some more big shots while he’s hurt but Ferreira is recovering. Very good round.
Round 3 – Ferreira landing some hard shots early. Moraes with a big right hand of his own now. This turned into a hell of a fight. After typing that, the fight slowed down considerably. Big shot by Moraes. Moraes is taunting a bit. Ferreira knocks him down now. Very competitive fight. I think Ferreira won, but not sure at all.

Rich Franklin vs. Wanderlei Silva – Round 1 – Soft right hook by Rich. Silva with a kick that is blocked. Big right by Wanderlei lands. Leg kick by Franklin lands. Left hand lands for Franklin, and again. Silva has to step back for a second. Another hard jab by Franklin and a hook around the defense of Silva. Head kick by Silva gets in a bit but Franklin catches it and lands a few punches. Two shots by Rich and a couple hard right hands and Rich is winning the stand-up. Punches followed by a body kick by Rich. Another body kick by Rich. They trade right hands, Wanderlei with a big head kick and Rich with a hard jab. 10-9 Franklin.
Round 2 – Nice lead left hook by Silva early in the round. Silva being a bit more active this round and Rich has yet to really get off this round like last. Front kick to the face by Silva. Three punches by Franklin land solidly now. Franklin with a good combo and digs to the body, Wanderlei gets one shot of his own in. Rich keeps going to the body and then coming back up to the head. Wanderlei landing a few shots again. Two more punches land. Another big shot for Silva. Silva lands hard again and again and now a knee. Big punches for Silva. Right hand and Franklin is down. Wanderlei flurrying hard but Franklin is surviving. Now Wanderlei is on his back, continuing to land. 10-9 Silva. Great round.
Round 3 – Franklin is moving forward again, he looks pretty steady on his feet considering the onslaught he just endured. Body shot by Rich. Franklin keeps on working here. Franklin with a head kick that doesn’t quite land flush. Body kick by Rich again. Wanderlei not having a ton of success now. Rich landing a few good jabs. Left hand by Wanderlei lands, body kick by Rich. Rich with a takedown now. Franklin with a few elbows. Good elbows by Rich now and some good punches. 10-9 Franklin.
Round 4 – Both men missing a lot here early. Body shot by Franklin. Good jabs and straight lefts by Franklin. Again with the straight left. Franklin slowly taking this fight back over now. Four punch combo by Franklin and Wanderlei lands a left but he’s not exactly a “whirlwind of violence” now. Huge low blow by Silva. After they recover, Rich lands a hard body kick, Wandy with a right hand but Rich wins this round clearly. 10-9 Franklin.
Round 5 – Rich pumping the jab now and Silva misses a head kick. Hard left by Franklin lands. Silva just doesn’t look like he’s really got it in him to do what nees to be done. Franklin continuing to move around, pick his shots and stay out of danger. Hard jab by Franklin and he keeps putting it out there to back Silva off. Left hand by Franklin. Silva tries to come on after pumping up the crowd but eats a big left. More jabs by Rich. Silva charges, they trade big shots and Rich drops him with a big shot. They laugh and hug after the horn. Should be a Franklin win.
Official Scorecards: 49-46 across the board. Rich Franklin wins by unanimous decision.
