I know, I know. It’s been a while. I was a very busy guy last week and was unable to get any of these bad boys done. This week looks a little more normal though, so here we are! Don’t worry, you don’t have to say it…I know you missed me. But let’s not get all mushy here or anything. Instead, let’s see what you’ve missed in the world of MMA today. We’ve got another Strikeforce light heavyweight that got busted for steroids. We’ve got a former UFC fighter who isn’t allowed on a Delta plane because he’s too gigantic. We’ve also got news on Demetrious Johnson, UFC on Fox 4 and 5, and lots more. Let’s roll.
We’ll start with something that seems to be the bane of Strikeforce’s existence – positive tests. In the last year, fighters or ex-fighters from the organization have been dropping like flies due to post-fight and random tests. Most notably “King” Muhammed Lawal and Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino (formerly Santos), who both popped for anabolic steroids. Former Strikeforce champions Alistair Overeem and Nick Diaz also tested positive for stuff in the UFC. Anyway, now they can add another guy to the list – Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante.
It came out over the weekend that Feijao was suspended by the California State Athletic Commission for a year due to a positive test for…something. Today, it was confirmed by the CSAC that he popped for the anabolic steroid stanozolol and his bout with Mike Kyle will be flipped to a no-contest. It’s the same steroid that Cyborg and Chris Leben tested positive for. Yeesh.
In slightly better news, UFC flyweight Demetrious Johnson will not need surgery for a hernia after all. He still has to have an x-ray on his hand so he’s not completely out of the woods yet, but if he’s good to go on that front, we could see a flyweight title fight against Joseph Benavidez sooner than later. Mighty Mouse’s description of the hernia thing might make the guys a little queasy though. And since I’m a jerk, I’ll reproduce it for you right here, right now! (via MMA Weekly)
“Basically, what happened was when I got kicked in the groin I’m assuming, but with my testicles there’s wires that connect to the back of it, and the wires on my left side were pretty severely swollen so my doctor gave me an anti-inflammatory. He checked it out today and he was like you don’t have a hernia, the first doctor who did the search for it he misdiagnosed you for a hernia because you were so swollen down there when he was checking, that’s why he misdiagnosed you with a hernia,” Johnson told MMAWeekly.com after visiting the doctor.
Great, now my tummy no feel good. At least he’s okay though. After the jump, we’ll look at a whole boatload of stuff including a trailer of Randy Couture’s new movie, some event news, and little Gangster from West Linn to close things out. Oh, and big Manny Y.
Rapid fire news time – go!
There’s a UFC Legends Roundtable on Fuel TV tonight at 11pm ET/8pm PT. Mark Coleman, Tito Ortiz, Randy Couture and Royce Gracie will be on the panel.

Vitor Belfort’s hand is coming along okay and he’s excited for the TUF Finale bouts at UFC 147. (Tatame)
Okay, let’s get to some videos. Do you guys remember Emmanuel Yarborough? For those that don’t, he was undoubtedly the biggest fighter in UFC history. The 6’7″ amateur sumo wrestler walked into UFC 3 tipping the scales at around 600 pounds, and was TKO’d by 5’11, 200 lb. Keith Hackey in under two minutes. He also fought once in Pride, and got stopped by 169 lb. Daiju Takase (he tapped to strikes). Anyway, Yarborough (who is now about 700 lbs) usually books three seats to fly to appearances, but Delta Airlines wasn’t having that and won’t let the big man on the plane.
