Evolve MMA’s Eddie Ng (5-1) has made waves in the Asian scene when he trounced two opponents in a combined time of just 88 seconds. He was set to take a step up in competition against Malaysian-based Arnaud Lepont (9-2) on ONE FC 4, but unfortunately, ‘The Magician’ suffered an injury during his training camp and has been forced out of the card.

“I tore my shoulder during wrestling training last week at the Fighters Program. The doctors think that I will need surgery and I will be out for at least 6 months.” Eddie Ng said as he talked about the injury,

“Rich Franklin told me that it could be a career-ending injury if not taken care of properly as he had the same thing happen to him last year. I really hope that it is not the worst case scenario.” he continued, “After discussing everything with Chatri (Sityodtong) and Heath (Sims), we decided that there was no choice, but to withdraw from this fight. It breaks my heart as I really wanted to fight badly. I hope to be back better and stronger in the future”

Stepping in Eddie’s place is his teammate, Brian Choi (3-1). The Korean will not only be stepping in on short notice, but the natural featherweight will also be moving up in weight to face Lepont.

“The decision was made by ONE FC and my coaches at Evolve MMA.” Choi told BloodyElbow.com, as he spoke about Lepont, who is dropping down from welterweight, “I am not worried about the size difference. I have fought in different weight classes my entire professional career. I am solely focused on what I need to do for this fight.”
