EA Sports put together the best MMA game ever (in my humble opinion) with EA MMA, but the game lacked the major UFC license and suffered a bit because of it. In a bit of shocking news, at today’s E3 event, EA announced that the UFC license issue has been rectified as they will be the makers of UFC games going forward.

Here’s the tweet from UFC president Dana White confirming the news:

The best news if you’re a fan of video games is that they won’t be starting from the ground up. It’s not going from the THQ games to a blank slate, it’s putting a huge license on a great game. That’s just exciting stuff for a video game nerd like myself.

I’m sure we’ll have much more news on this as details emerge.

After the jump, the reminder of when Dana White said “EA Sports sucks.”
