One of the most anticipated action movies of the summer — The Expendables 2 — hits theaters in mid-August with the new trailer for the film hitting the Internet today, featuring UFC Hall-of-Famer Randy Couture.
The nearly three minute clip features a lot of what you’d expect: punches, kicks, explosions and some of the most well-known action stars of the last 30 years. Couture reprises his role as demolitions expert Toll Road from the 2010 movie that did $274 million worldwide ($103 domestic/$171 foreign).
The sequel brings back the entire main cast from the first movie while adding some new faces like legendary martial artists Chuck Norris and Jean Claude Van Damme. Norris is a member of Sylvester Stallone’s crew while Van Damme plays the villain. Sadly, Anderson Silva pal Steven Seagal didn’t make the cut.
The clip debuted exclusively on IGN.com but hit YouTube quickly thereafter:
Expendables 2 adds to a growing slate of small film roles for Couture, who retired last spring after a knockout loss to Lyoto Machida at UFC 129. The movie debuts domestically on August 17th.
