Since I pointed out yesterday that I would be doing some live coverage of the WBC heavyweight championship bout between Vitali Klitschko and Dereck Chisora I have received several inquiries on how the fight was being shown. Due to both fighters being popular Europeans without much of an American fanbase and the bout taking place in Germany (thus having a mid-afternoon start time in America) it was not picked up by HBO or Showtime.
But to the interested and curious, fear not.
Epix will be airing the fight for American fans at 4:30 p.m. ET and there’s no better time to check out the online movie and sports “channel” as they are having a 14 day free trial. You can sign up for the trial by going to this link. You can watch Epix on your PC or on Android devices, iPad, iPod, XBox 360, Roku..etc. So there’s no need to go hunting for some sort of second hand stream for this fight when there’s a perfectly legal option available.
Fans in the U.K can watch the fight live on BoxNation. For those unfamiliar, BoxNation is available on Sky (channel 456), Virgin (channel 546) and live online (link here).
Finally, for German fans, RTL will air the fight live as well.
Make sure to check out our live coverage of the fight today and check in at Bad Left Hook for all their tremendous coverage of the event and all things boxing related.
Update: As explained in the comments, there are other ways in some other countries to catch the fight. In Sweden the fight will air on TV10. In Canada the fight will be shown on Sportsnet 1 at 9 p.m.
