Our live coverage will start with the Fuel TV prelim broadcast (5 p.m. ET) and through the Fox main card broadcast (8 p.m. ET) so make sure to make Bloody Elbow your home for this event.
This post will cover live results and thoughts for the undercard on Fuel.
The featured bout of the undercard sees Evan Dunham square off with Nik Lentz in a lightweight bout with both men needing a win or risking being cut from the UFC. Talented heavyweights Mike Russow and Jon Olav Einemo meet in what should be an interesting fight. Two featherweight battles will also be featured on the tellecast as George Roop faces Cub Swanson and Charles Oliveira squares off with Eric Wisely. Lightweights Michael Johnson and Shane Roller will also meet on Fuel. Rounding out the card is what is sure to be a brawl between heavyweights Joey Beltran and Lavar Johnson.

Joey Beltran vs. Lavar Johnson – Round 1 – Beltran refuses to touch hands, Johnson digs to his body and Beltran falls to the mat. Beltran is able to get up quickly though and they’re fighting in the clinch against the cage. Knee to the body by Johnson. They finally separate and Johnson lands a jab. Leg kick by Johnson. Johnson working a stiff jab and another leg kick and Beltran is forced to try for a takedown. Beltran is getting busted up badly here. Johnson is just working jabs and straight rights. Johnson just keeps working the jab and Beltran is trying to make something happen. Beltran finally gets in with a left hand. Now Beltran lands a combo but Johnson with a jab and an upper cut. Huge series of uppercuts by Johnson and Beltran slumps and is only being held up because Johnson is keeping him up with uppercuts. Beltran is out cold. Lavar Johnson wins by KO (punches), 4:24 of round 1.
Michael Johnson vs. Shane Roller – Round 1 – Johnson with a left hand early, Roller is trying to close distance. Johnson looking much lighter on his feet here and throwing straighter punches than usual. Roller’s first takedown attempt didn’t get it to the ground and Johnson with a nice combination. Both men land left hooks. Roller shoots and Johnson stuffs it with ease. They work up against the clinch with Roller looking like he was going to go for a guillotine. Nice elbow on the exit by Johnson. Johnson is flurrying nicely and Roller is trying to answer. Roller pushes into the clinch again and Johnson turns him. Roller keeps trying to wrap up a guillotine when he is pushed against the cage but can’t get it locked in. Another great sprawl by Johnson. Flying knee by Johnson at the end of the round. 10-9 Johnson.
Round 2 – Johnson landing some punches early and now pushing Roller into the cage. Left hand by Roller gets in. Good right hand by Roller. Roller looking a bit more confident now after landing a few punches. Roller working for the takedown very hard and ends up resorting to pulling guard. Nothing much done on the ground and Roller stands up. Roller landing some very nice punches here. Right elbow by Johnson in the clinch and they separate. Nice left hands and a big follow-up combination that may have just won the round for Johnson. Roller trying like hell for a takedown and can’t get it. 10-9 Johnson.
Round 3 – Nice combination by Johnson and he caps it off with a leg kick. Roller pushes in for a takedown and takes Johnson’s back. He is teeing off with punches but is landing to the back of the head A LOT. Herb Dean stops the fight to tell him that another shot to the back of the head will force him to take action. Roller starts elbowing to the side of the head and Johnson yells about the back of the head. Roller now just trying for the choke. Roller lets go of the body triangle finally and Johnson is on top. Johnson stands up and tries to flurry but lands a low blow. They exchange big shots and the round ends. 10-9 Roller makes it 29-28 Johnson on my card.
Official Scorecards: 29-28 across the board. Michael Johnson wins by unanimous decision.
Charles Oliveira vs. Eric Wisely – Round 1 – Leg kick by Oliveira. Wisely is moving a lot but eating leg kicks. Oliveira catches a kick from Wisely and takes him down. Oliverira is landing some nice shots here. Wisely avoids a heel hook but Oliveira just locks his leg in a leg triangle and pulls him backward putting incredible pressure on his knee and forcing the submission. That was slick. Charles Oliveira wins by submission (calf slicer?), 1:43 of round 1.
Cub Swanson vs. George Roop – Round 1 – Cub comes out looking a bit wild as is predictable. Roop using the front kick early. Roop goes too high on the head kick. Swanson doesn’t look to have a plan to get inside the reach of Roop. Swanson suddenly does get inside and lands a big flurry of shots that hurts Roop. Roop firing back now and Swanson holding him against the cage. Roop with a big kick to the body and flurry of punches that force Swanson to retreat. Right hand by Cub. Swanson defends a takedown attempt with a powerful hip toass and he’s in Roop’s guard. Swanson stands back up. Head kick by Roop is blocked. Right hand by Roop. Swanson catche a leg kick to get the takedown. 10-9 Roop in my eyes.
Round 2 – Similar exchanges with Roop landing at distance. Leg kick by Swanson. Swanson going back to the leg kicks. Big shot by Swanson drops Roop and as Roop tries to grab a leg to defend the right is stopped. That was a huge right hand by Swanson that started it out. Cub Swanson wins by TKO, 2:22 round 2.
Jon Olav Einemo vs. Mike Russow – Round 1 – Russow pushes forward and gets a quick takedown. Einemo gets full guard. THey’re back to standing fairly quickly. Russow with a few punches to close distance quickly. Knee to the body in the clinch by Einemo. Big right hand by Einemo. Russow keeps pushing forward for the clinch. Russow with another takedown. Elbow from inside Einemo’s half guard. Einemo with a few punches off his back. Russow defending until the final seconds when Einemo sweeps him to full mount but the horn stops him. 10-9 Russow.
Round 2 – Einemo with a nice counter and then Russow takes him down. Elbow to the body by Russow. Einemo looking to control an arm. Einemo tries for a triangle. Russow just staying on top and doing enough to not get stood up. Elbow by Russow. Einemo is bleeding badly from the nose and Einemo is tired. 10-9 Russow.
Round 3 – Einemo trying to counter and land knees. Russow with a takedown attempt and he can’t get it. Big riht by Einemo and a hard knee. Another big knee. Russow with a takedown and Einemo almost has a triangle but Russow slides out before it gets locked in. Russow trying to get to side control. Einemo almost gets the back but can’t and he’s still exhausted. They’re stood up and Einemo lands a big knee to the body and another big knee to the head and Russow just takes him down. Pretty clear clean sweep for Russow.

Evan Dunham vs. Nik Lentz – Round 1 – Dunham walking forward and throws a head kick that is blicked. Lentz pushes forward and Dunham stings him with a combo. Lentz with a takedown, Dunham tries to stand up and Lentz tries to catch the head but can’t. Dunham with a nice punch. Dunham is working combinations and looking good so far. Looping left lands for Lentz. They’re trading and Dunham is tagging him. Lentz with a takedown, Dunham stands up and Lentz is trying for a guillotine but can’t get it. Lentz with a body kick but gets hit with a punch. Dunham landing hard short elbows. Dunham tags him a few more times and gets a takedown. 10-9 Dunham.
Round 2 – Dunham with a takedown early and was in side control before Lentz managed to scramble back to guard. Good grappling exchange but Dunham remained on top. Lentz with a nice series of punches as they stand up. Two hard punches by Dunham and a leg kick in return. Now they’re both trading hard punches. Big right hand by Dunham and he gets a takedown into the guard of Lentz. Dunham goes for a choke and it’s a weird angle but he had it deep enough to threaten. Dunham gives it up and lands an elbow. Dunham landing a series of strikes. Big punch by Dunham and Lentz manages to stand. Knee by Dunham. Big left by Dunham. Lentz pushing forward. Lentz’s eye is in bad shape. 10-9 Dunham.
The doctors stop the fight due to a very bad cut by Lentz’s eye. Evan Dunham wins by TKO (doctor stoppage), 5:00 of round 2.
