Today, the 2012 kickboxing season gets underway with a stacked card from It’s Showtime, headlined by the retirement fight of Badr Hari as he faces Gokhan Saki. Join us here at Bloody Elbow this afternoon to discuss the show as it goes down. Here’s how to watch:
HDNet – For fans with HDNet, the show airs live today starting at 3:00 p.m. ET / 12:00 p.m. PT. Note that HDNet is only showing the main card today. The prelims (which includes Tyrone Spong vs. Melvin Manhoef) will air on February 3.
Fight Network – Fans in Canada can see the entire card live on Fight Network, starting at 12:00 p.m. ET / 9:00 a.m. PT.
Online – It’s Showtime will be streaming the entire card at www.showtimefights.com. Again, this starts at 12:00 p.m. ET / 9:00 a.m. PT. The stream costs 10 Euro, or about $13 US.
As I said above, the big feature bout is the retirement from kickboxing of Badr Hari, which we covered earlier this week. He takes on the tough Gokhan Saki in what is the best Heavyweight fight kickboxing has seen since the 2010 K-1 Grand Prix.
Other highlights of the main card include Hesdy Gerges vs. Daniel Ghita, Murat Direkci vs. Robin van Roosmalen, and Errol Zimmerman vs. Rico Verhoeven. The undercard is also loaded, with Tyrone Spong vs. Melvin Manhoef, and L’houcine Ouzgni vs. Yohan Lidon as the highlights. Check out the full card here.
Hope you will be watching, and joining the conversation here at Bloody Elbow.
