The UFC 141 card has been hit with another injury as lightweight, Ramsey Nijem, has pulled out of his lightweight fight with Anthony Njokuani after getting hurt in training. The UFC confirmed this afternoon that Danny Castillo will step in and face Njokuani instead, in a battle of WEC veterans:
Nijem injured, Castillo in against Njokuani at UFC 141.
Castillo is fresh off a dominant win against Shamar Bailey at UFC 139, where the Team Alpha Male representative took out his anger about Bailey failing to make weight by thrashing him with ground and pound for a first round stoppage. Although Castillo brings a wrestling background to the fight as Nijem would have, he’s much more comfortable on his feet and packs power that Njokuani will have to worry about along with the threat of a takedown. Njokuani-Nijem was scheduled for the Spike TV prelims broadcast, but it hasn’t been confirmed if the new bout will stay in that spot.
