Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar recently did an interview with his buddy Paul Heyman, where he talks about being in the WWE ’12 video game, his recovery from surgery for diverticulitis, and his UFC 141 bout with Alistair Overeem. For those that don’t know, Heyman was Lesnar’s first manager in the WWE and has been a friend of his for a long time. He also co-wrote Lesnar’s book, Death Clutch. Here’s what he had to say about the surgery:
“For two years I had to lie to myself, and lie to all of my fans. I had to get up every morning and say ‘you feel good today’, and I didn’t. I had the surgery, it’s out of my life, and I’m back. And that’s a damn good feeling for me, and it’s bad for everyone else.”
And on his opponent at UFC 141:
“I don’t have a lot to say to Alistair Overeem. Here’s a guy that’s getting his chance to make a name in the UFC. And unfortunately for him, there’s a gatekeeper that stands in his way, and that’s Brock Lesnar. And I will prove on that night that I am, once again, and will always be, the baddest dude on the planet.”
