Popular UK welterweight Che Mills took on TUF competitor Chris Cope in the second UFC 138: Leben vs. Munoz Facebook bout.
Mills was not only expected to make the cut for the US vs. UK edition of The Ultimate Fighter but was considered a favorite to win the show. Mills was heel-hooked by eventual winner James Wilks in his elimination match.
Mills’ chance to define his status was taken full advantage of this time. Cope started out with his usual striking activity, threatening with his left hook and bouncing back out of range. About thirty seconds in, Mills exploded with a combination and followed up with a crushing knee to the chin from the clinch.
Referee Mark Goddard nearly interceded when Cope crumpled, but backed away when he maintained intelligent defense. Cope battled back to his feet but was met with another brutal knee to the face and Goddard had seen enough.
Che Mills scores a devastating first round TKO over Chris Cope in his long awaited UFC debut.
