In case you were wondering, yes there is a significant medical consequence to Mauricio “Shogun” Rua bouncing your head off the Octagon canvas like he’s in the NBA. Forrest Griffin found out the hard way at Saturday’s UFC 134: Rio, now he’s got to do as much as 180 days medical suspension.

Winners Stanislav Nedkov and Raphael Assuncao and decision loser Ian Loveland join Griffin on the 180 days out list.

Ian Loveland: 30 days no contest, 21 days no contact, 180 days or must have negative chest x-ray; if positive, must be cleared by doctor

Yves Jabouin: 30 days no contest, 21 days no contact

Felipe Arantes: 45 days no contest, 30 days no contact

Yuri Alcantara: 7 days mandatory rest

Luis Ramos: 40 days no contest, 30 days no contact

Erick Silva: 7 days mandatory rest

Raphael Assuncao: 30 days no contest; 21 days no contact, 180 days or must have negative nasal x-ray; if positive, must be cleared by doctor

Dan Miller: 45 days no contest, 30 days no contact

Rousimar Palhares: 45 days no contest, 30 days no contact

Thiago Tavares: 7 days mandatory rest

Stanislav Nedkov: 30 days no contest, 21 days no contact, 180 days or must have negative nasal x-ray; if positive must be cleared by doctor

Luiz Cane: 30 days no contest, 21 days no contact

Brendan Schaub: 45 days no contest, 30 days no contact

Ross Pearson: 45 days no contest, 30 days no contact
