On a night filled with quick knockouts and submissions, Chris Leben knocked out Wanderlei Silva in 27 seconds at UFC 132 in Las Vegas, NV.
Silva looked great for a few seconds, throwing some wild hooks. Leben then threw a looping left hook that slowed Silva, following up with four uppercuts that dropped Silva forward. He then attacked with all left hands on the ground and it was over quickly.
The 30-year-old Leben has won four of his last five and rebounded nicely from a 1st round TKO loss to Brian Stann at January’s UFC 125. He’s recorded finishes in his last three victories.
The 34-year-old Silva (33-11-1) was so stunned following the stoppage that he attempted to wrestle referee Josh Rosenthal. He has lost six of his last eight and has fought only three times in the 2 1/2 years.
