Mamed Khalidov gave UFC bad boy Michael Bisping a run for his money in the first round, but ended up falling short. That leaves us with four fighters in the semi-finals with a rich history. Sonnen and Okami have both given Anderson Silva trouble, while Bisping has mostly troubled closed captioners and people who hate spitting. There’s a tremendous little tournament brewing here.
1. Anderson Silva vs. 4. Michael Bisping
My Take: Are you serious? I love Michael Bisping for his endlessly entertaining hijinks, but I can’t see him beating Silva. Silva is the better striker and has the better ground game as well. He’s aging, sure, but he’s not so old he can’t beat Michael Bisping.
2. Chael Sonnen vs. 3. Yushin Okami
My Take: Yushin Okami is training in Oregon with Sonnen and Matt Lindland. That’s because Chael dominated him when the two met head to head in the Octagon. I don’t see Okami stopping use from seeing the fight I’m looking forward to most in the UFC: Silva vs. Sonnen II.
