UFC 131: Lesnar vs. dos Santos takes places June 11th at Rogers Arena in British Columbia, Canada. Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar faces the man with the most dangerous hands in the heavyweight division – Junior dos Santos in the main event. This fight will determine who will be the first to challenge the returning Cain Velasquez.
Brock Lesnar on TUF 13: The Aftermath:
“Obviously as a fighter you want to keep continuing to evolve, and I think as my fights have evolved I have faced guys with better boxing skills and it’s an area I definitely need to work on. As far as learning… I don’t know if you ever get used to taking punches, but that’s not the problem. The problem is all my other assets have been farther ahead of the game and this is one we’re going to have to keep lagging along and not get frustrated and understand I got to get better.”
Junior dos Santos on The MMA Hour:
“My wrestling is very good and I think it will be hard for him to put me down. I will be very prepared. I will be in shape. I have to be one hundred percent in that fight. If he tries to put me down – for sure, he will try – but I will get up and keep the fight (standing). That’s my way to win the fight. I’m looking for the knockout all the time. He’s a wrestler, so he feels uncomfortable when people throw punches on him. I think his fight against Cain Velasquez shows good things for me, because I think he’s got a weak chin. I will try to use that, try to throw some punches and…try to use my boxing.”
