Join Bloody Elbow on Wednesday nights to discuss the latest episode of the Ultimate Fighter 13, featuring former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar and rising star Junior dos Santos.
It doesn’t bother me when fighters leave the show to be with their wives or girlfriends or children. I don’t think less of a fighter for leaving. It’s a difficult decision, and not one so easily summed up by the question, “Do you want to be a fighter?”
Still, I wonder what some of these guys are thinking when they put themselves in this situation.
Keon Caldwell left season thirteen in week two. (Or at least that’s what we assume. Reality television does not abide by the rules of proper chronology.) The Ultimate Fighter, I believe, tapes for six weeks. You know that going in. Why put it all the hours training to get through the tryouts, get through the auditions, and then bail so quickly?

This week’s episode looks to focus on two storylinse, both involving coaches. First, Junior dos Santos has to put assistant coach Lew Polley in his place after pushing the team too hard. On the other side, Brock Lesnar’s penchant for calling his fighters “chickens***” has created a minor mutiny. Click here for a sneak peak of tonight’s episode.
