Before Georges St. Pierre and Jake Shields meet at UFC 129, UFC Primetime will follow each fighter’s training camps for three weeks leading up to the fight. This marks St. Pierre’s third time participating on the show, having previously been featured for his UFC 111 bout between Dan Hardy and his UFC 94 superfight with B.J. Penn. One can assume that the show will primarily serve as a promotional tool for Jake Shields, who is unknown to casual UFC fans outside of an uninspired decision victory over Martin Kampmann at UFC 121.
Spike TV will take viewers to the Bay Area of California to see how Shields is honing his patented “American Jiu Jitsu” skills for his title shot, and to Montreal to see how St-Pierre, one of the most beloved athletes in Canada, is preparing for his title defense.
