Greg Jackson: Rashad Evans Has the Tools to Beat Jon Jones

Rashad Evans has made no secret of his hurt feelings, frustration and anger that UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones, his former teammate at Greg Jackson’s MMA, agreed to a fight between the two. Evans has not limited his frustration to Jones either, he’s left Jackson’s camp and is training in Florida with former Jackson wrestling coach Mike Van Arsdale. Jackson and his striking coach Mike Winkeljohn both have commented on the situation and the upcoming Jones-Evans bout.

MMA coach, Greg Jackson: “I think everybody has the tools to win. Rashad (Evans) certainly does. If “Rampage” (Jackson) catches you with a big punch he’s got the tools. Everybody’s got the tools to win.”

Striking coach, Mike Winkeljohn: “I love Rashad (Evans) to death. I think he’s much better than people even know. He could be scary for Jon. He has the tools to beat Jon Jones.”

Former Strikeforce champ, Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal: “Every man can be beaten. Without a doubt I can beat Jon Jones. I know I can beat Jon Jones. He’s a good fighter, but all it takes is a good game plan, a good camp and I know I would win. My brother Rashad got the tools to beat him too. Rashad’s going to beat him.”

UFC boss Dana White told fans that UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones would face Rashad Evans in “September or October“.
