Fedor Emelianenko was MMA’s top heavyweight for over a decade, racking up nearly thirty straight wins while ruling the world’s best heavyweight division in Pride. But times change and now that Fedor’s lost two in a row to Fabricio Werdum and Antonio Silva, some people are saying he’s too small for a heavyweight. Fedor spoke with Cyril Garcia of MixFight.nl about his weight class situation:
MixFight.nl: Do you consider dropping to light heavyweight? And possibly fight Dan Henderson for the light heavyweight title?
Fedor: Yes I have talked about it with my manager Vadim Finklestein. But as far as I know, there is no offer made by Strikeforce to fight as a light heavyweight.
Fedor is looking to return in July which is the same month Dan Henderson has planned his return. Here’s to hoping this fight materializes.
