Tompkins: Jose Aldo Doesn’t Have The Hand Speed of Mark Hominick

Mark Hominick will challenge UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo at UFC 129 in front of a home town crowd in Toronto. His striking coach Shawn Tompkins talks to MMA Canada about the approach he’s advising his fighter to take and where he thinks Hominick’s advantages over the fearsome Aldo are:

“I think that where he wins this fight is he moves forward. Nobody who has fought Aldo has moved forward. And everybody Aldo has fought has been a wrestler trying to be a kickboxer. Nobody has the hand speed Hominick does, not even Aldo.”

“We respect him, he is such a great fighter… but we are not going into the fight afraid of him.”
