As we alluded to in the news about Shane Carwin’s upcoming opponent, the Seattle Times held a live chat with UFC President Dana White today. Unlike the mouthbreathers begging for tickets at the UFC 128 press conference in New York, the chat participants dragged out a good deal of information from our favorite bald-headed fight promoter.
White played dumb when asked about Saturday’s Fight Night 24 event airing on tape delay on the West Coast:
I have no control over that, the network does.
This season of the Ultimate Fighter will not feature an elimination round for a reason:
Because we only have 10 episodes this season. It’s normally 13. It’s 10 this season.
On the possibility of Anderson Silva fighting Jon Jones and Dana’s personal dream match at the moment:
Silva has made it very clear me to he does not want to fight at 205.
My dream fight? We do them all the time. But if you want to talk about SuperFights, I truly believe we put on dream fights twice a month, but right now it’s Anderson Silva-Georges St. Pierre.
A question came in about improving the UFC online PPV experience. If the UFC Vault is any indication, Dana might want to reconsider his response:
I think it depends on your computer. If you’re still watching with dial-up, I can see why you would have a bad experience. We test this stuff. It’s not like we just throw this stuff and say, ‘Oh, I hope this works for everybody.’ And if you don’t have a good computer, buy it on TV. Or go to a bar.
Hope you aren’t looking for the UFC to make the push for legalizing knees on the ground. I thought it used to be something Dana was in favor for, but not anymore apparently:
I don’t like knees to the head on the ground. If you don’t like elbows to the head on the ground, you definitely shouldn’t like knees to the head on the ground.
