In the third fight of UFC 128, Joseph Benavidez defeated Ian Loveland by unanimous decision. The bout did not make any of the broadcast, but it is available on UFC.com.
What was the high point of the fight?
Well, as much as the UFC tried to prevent me, I was able to watch the fight this afternoon. After not airing it last night, I headed on over to the UFC website to check it out. Unfortunately, the UFC Vault is still as unusable as when I complained about it years ago. It took me 30 minutes to get the fight to load, and that was after multiple refreshes and logins and all sorts of tomfoolery that the UFC should be above at this point.
Where do these guys go from here?
Hopefully Joseph Benavidez gets himself on televisions in his next fight. I figured he could sneak his way onto last night’s show what with the 5 hours of scheduled broadcast time, but even geniuses are wrong from time to time. I expect Benavidez, currently ranked number two at bantamweight on our Consensus Rankings, to fight former bantamweight champ Brian Bowles while Dominick Cruz deals with Urijah Faber.
Ian Loveland might be a good candidate to fight former champ Eddie Wineland, who also lost on this card.
Watch it now, later, or never?
Fire up UFC.com, load up the fight, and come back a few hours later when it starts playing.
