Light-heavyweight fighter Cyrille Diabate talks UFC 128: Shogun vs. Jones and Michael Bisping’s spitting incident at UFC 127 with Fighters Only:
“I think Shogun is more well-rounded. He’s got more experience at that high-level of fighting and he’s got knockout power whereas I think Jon Jones – although he’s a very dangerous striker and can surprise anyone because he’s so unpredictable – doesn’t have the same kind of knockout power, one-punch knockout power. Either way it’s gonna be a very exciting fight … truly top guys of the division fighting each other for the belt.”
“I think Shogun should win by KO or (T)KO but either way Jon Jones – even if he’s not the champ in the next fight – is gonna be the champ one day because he’s so talented and so skilled.”
“I’m not surprised at all. I’ve had problems with (Michael) Bisping a few times. He’s a character. He’s very explosive. He tends to act and think after. His actions weren’t a surprise to me as he’s the type of guy that does that s— and then regrets it or tries to apologies after.”
“But his actions have gone by already and he’s hurt peoples feelings and he’s shown the public the bad side of the sport. Not even of the sport, but of fighters themselves. We don’t need that kind of publicity. There are so many people bad mouthing MMA as it is that we don’t need those kind of actions.”
