How did these guys get here?

Ross Pearson won season 9 of The Ultimate Fighter after toiling in the English MMA scene. Throughout the course of his TUF stint, Pearson appeared to keep getting better and pulled off the victory in the finals via decision over Andre Winner. He impressed in his next outing winning Fight of the Night in a decision victory over the very dangerous Dennis Siver. He is coming off a loss to Cole Miller and looking to rebound and get back to his winning ways.

Spencer Fisher made his UFC debut in October of 2005, defeating Thiago Alves with a triangle choke. He has 14 fights under the bright lights of the UFC and has been a staple of the lightweight division for years. At UFC 104 and the Ultimate Fighter Finale (season 11) he suffered back-to-back losses for the first time in his career but rebounded at UFC 120 with a decision win over Curt Warburton.

Why should you care?

Fisher and Pearson are known for putting on exciting fights and this should be mainly contested on the feet. Pearson is trying to continue to improve and establish his place in the lightweight division while Fisher is trying to remain relevant. That is the kind of situation which can often lead to a fight of the night.
