Gustafsson:W – Cyrille Diabate (Sub), L – Phil Davis (Sub), W – Jared Hamman (KO)

How did these guys get here?

James Te-Huna is a New Zealander who made his name fighting on the Australian circuit. In fact, even after this fight (his second in the UFC) he will have never fought outside of Australia. Following a KO of Anthony Perosh, Te-Huna was brought into the UFC. He made his debut on the big show by dispatching of Igor Pokrajac via second round TKO. Only one of his 16 career fights have gone to the judges’ scorecards.

Alexander Gustafsson is a Swedish fighter who was highly regarded before making his UFC debut at UFC 105. At 105 he defeated Jared Hamman by KO in only forty-one seconds. He then ran into the buzz saw that is Phil Davis at UFC 112 where he was submitted by Davis. Gustafsson managed to rebound with a rear-naked choke over Cyrille Diabate at UFC 120. Similar to Te-Huna he has only been to a decision once in his career.

Why should you care?

These guys don’t drag fights out and this should be exciting and competitive. While many fans have written off Te-Huna in this bout he has a completely legitimate chance of winning this fight with his power. It should be very entertaining.
